What is everybodies opinion on buying guitars through ebay? I have been looking for a new guitar for some time now and there are no good dealers where i live (Darwin, Australia).
Any stories of being burned with a purchase or anything like that? Anything i should look out for?
Cheers

Hi. You can find some sweet deals on Ebay to be fair man. the only downside is you don't always recieve what the photos show if you get what I mean. www.guitarampkeyboard.com/That is a very good website.

Be careful when using eBay for Any expensive item.
Check the seller's feedback and rating. there are many legitimate stores who sell through eBay in addition to their store's floor, so finding a deal through an established business is less risky.
Have enough knowledge about guitars to determine whether or not the seller is making an informed and educated description of the product or if they are blindly listing generic info.
Sometimes those pictures don't always show the scuffs and scratches that are really there. or how the pickup is falling out of the body or how the machine heads are missing their covers etc. make sure you get to see full pictures of the guitar, as well as close ups and close ups of any blemishes that may exist. don't ever buy a guitar that doesn't show pictures.
Generally though, if you check the seller and confirm them to be an honest dealer or individual with a good history and reputation with eBay, you'll be fine.
